Fits vintage Lady Schaeffer fountain pens, outstanding color

I received a vintage c1960 Lady Schaeffer fountain pen & mechanical pencil set for Christmas. I looked around for converters but they were either sold out or too costly when I was looking; even though I will pick one up eventually, these cartridges fit utterly and the ink is a in truth gorgeous turquoise with great shading. My desire for a converter unquestionably dropped after receiving these!

excellent pen

I purchased this pen from another retailer 3 years ago and it's still running with no problems or difficulties as it did the original time it touched the paper. The ink does not arid out on the nib and whether you use it once a day or once a fortnight, it writes as if it never paused writing. It's my best pen so far, and I do own a Waterman and two Parkers besides it.

Review of the Rollerball - a outstanding pen that you may make even greater!

This is a well made, good looking pen. It is nicely weighted and feels good when writing. The blue, black, and gold color conbination goes well together without looking too... fancy.

You may make it even better by using the SANFORD Refill for uni-ball Signo Gel 207, Medium, Black Ink, 2 per Pack rather of the supplied Waterman refill.

I'm only using the "refill" link as a reference. It's commonly much for less to buy the pen: for example, uni-ball 207 Retractable Medium Point Gel Pens, 8 Blue Ink Pens (1756585), keep the refill, and throw away the rest.

Not to detract for the splendid Waterman rollerball pen. It just writes even better with the UniBall refill.

Classy, Smooth Writing Instrument

I have the Phileas solid black in rollerball. A good-looking, classy pen with heft. Writes smoothly. First ink cartridge lasted over a year with significant note-taking use. Great substitute to the more pricey pens. A respectable instrument to pull out of a suit jacket or portfolio. A friend tipped me off to the value (price) when she pulled one out of her Coach case prior to a meeting. Wonderful addition to your executive style without the regret if lost.

I'm buying two as gifts for executors of two significant contracts.

Waterman acceptable, inexpensive alternative...

Bought this pen as a substitute for a well worn MontBlanc Generation rollerball that I not long ago lost. While this pen is not the same and distinctly I would prefer the pen I had before, it is an adequate for the purpose substitute at a much lower price point. The weight of the pen is a bit low, and the case has closely no metal, but it writes well and gives me the continuity of line and definition that I like.

Well-behaved, even on bad paper; waterproof, forgery proof

I write with Noodler's Black (the brand's "standard" black ink) closely each day because I can't always choose the paper to write on. Noodler's Black may be employed for two-sided writing on bad paper, even newsprint, which is rare among all the fountain pen inks in the world.

I also write with Noodler's Black because it's waterproof, forgery-proof, good-looking, and enjoyably smooth for the duration of writing. I confidently write checks with Noodler's Black, and it is safe for signing priceless or indispensable documents too (when black is an satisfactory color; ask your lawyer).

Please keep in mind that the Noodler's company conservatively says which of the brand's colors are waterproof and which are not. In my experience Noodler's Black is by far the best Noodler's color for writing on both sides of bad paper.

One conduct you might notice, if your pen's nib is an exposed metal surface (not covered with colored enamel), is that Noodler's (standard) Black spreads itself over exposed metal surfaces. This "nib creep" is harmless conduct because the ink doesn't run down onto the grip area. Wiping the ink off the nib is only temporary; more ink will soon disseminate to replace what you wiped off. Again, this is harmless conduct and a very little price to compensate for the security of your marks, signatures and indispensable handwritten texts.

A welcome change - works well.

[For the record, I employed this ink with the Cross Century II Medalist medium-nib fountain pen.]

Like others have said, this ink has a lot of impressive qualities.

As soon as I opened the bottle (the bottle is glass, and beautiful - like the bottles of old), I noticed that it was full to the very brim. While subjective looks have not one thing to do with the amount of ink one actually gets, it's helpful in getting the nib in deep sufficient not to pull up air, but not so deep that it's overly dirtied.

This ink wipes off of solid surfaces without apparent effort - it's much more comfortable to clean off than the Higgins Fountain Pen India I employed before. It likewise doesn't seem to cause "nib goo" on the undersurface of the nib - which was a regular occurrence with the aforementioned Higgins, specially when drawing (I draw as well as write).

I decisive to see incisively how waterproof this stuff is. While it wasn't a scientific test by any stretch of the imagination, I licked my finger, and rubbed over a altogether blackened part of a sketch I did - and none ended up on my fingertip. The drawing showed no effect, either.

The pen writes more with no problems or difficulties than before, as well as starting more quickly after pauses with the cap removed.

All-in-all, I think I'm sold on this stuff from now on. =:o)

Great ink, and Made in the USA!

I just purchased my initial fountain pen a few months ago, Lamy Safari Charcoal Fountain Pen - Charcoal, Medium Nib L17M purchased the converter for it, Lamy Safari Converter Z24 and proceeded to fill it with this fine Noodler's black "bulletproof" ink. I do a majority of my writing in Moleskine journals, Moleskine Large Ruled Notebook and while the paper may most times be inconsistent when accepting fountain pen ink, (bleeding & feathering) I have not have had any difficultnesses with this queer ink. I also have a bottle of Noodler's Le Colour Royale (a dark purplish blue) and unfortunately, that queer color does bleed & feather more or less in the same Moleskine. Le Colour Royale is not Bulletproof/waterproof, and I wonder if that's the difference.

Of note, there are galore journals that may handle fountain pen ink with no bleeding at all, such as Clairfontaine and Miguel Rius. I'm just partial to the Moleskines.

I love using the Black Noodler's ink for doing pen & wash watercolor art.

I think this is a reasonably priced product, and I'm rather pleased that it's made in the USA, which I undertake to buy as often times as possible.

A smooth writer and a outstanding pen!

I use fountain pens everyday, so I recognise what I am talking about: This is a outstanding fountain pen for daily writing -- one that you will not care gets lost or damaged due to it is very low price (unlike the intermediate (non fixed edition) fountain pens, which may cost over $100 -- and most times much more). The Pilot Varsity pen lays down a great fine-to-medium line of ink, and the nib (IE: the writing tip) does not arid out too fast when left uncapped -- and the pen seems to write eternally with it is big internal ink reservoir. Fantastic buy; and with no muss-'n-fuss of having to refill the pen either!

One of a kind fountain pens

Simply put, these pens are amazing. They rival galore of the best ball point pens I have ever applied because they have such smooth writing. The thickness of a line is perfective and this pen provides a very consistent amount of ink (not runny). However, I would advise you to store the pen in an upright position (nib pointing up) because the other way makes more or less more ink to flow through. The ink dries up quickly and does not smear...the colors are very bright as well. Also, I have used the pen for a while now and the ink has not runned out quickly. These pens are outstanding for those who have highpriced fountain pens but do not want to use them all the time. Plus, they get a lot of attention at school. Bottom line, these are great quality and cheap pens.

Decent calligraphy pen

Similar to the older Sheaffer calligraphy pens. The grip is decent. Did not like the openings on the body that show the cartridge. Just for FYI, it is not fine sufficient to use for procedure writing.

Writes well enough, nice sketching/drawing pen. You need to retrace lines somewhat ofttimes and you better keep a scribble pad or scrap paper nearby to get the inks flowing. I also don't care much for the opening, feels funny.

But overall, worth $7 or $8.

Good for occasional use

I only like to use this pen for ornamental things, I don't think I could use it for each day use.
It writes much more thickly than I had anticipated, and because of this it eats through ink rather rapidly.

But, for ornamental use, it's superb. I'm, by all means, not very experienced with calligraphy. I write in cursive and this pen makes my handwriting look fantasti without any more crusade on my part.

This pen writes rather smoothly, most times the ink flow isn't great, but for $8 it's not a bad buy at all. The grip's firm, and I in truth haven't had any major difficulties with it yet. I'd commend it.

Perfect!

This dip ink writing pen is incisively what I thought it would be, awesome! I love it, I'm going to use it for my new diary I purchased and a bottle of ink. It's such a beauteous pen, the wood makes it look more authentic then just a normal plastic handle. Plus it came exceedingly fast in the mail so thank you!

Poor product - good client service

The initial one I ordered arrived but was damaged - the nib was bent and unusable. A alternate was sent without delay by the vender once I sent a picture of the damaged pen. The alternate pen looks nice, and is made of wood, notwithstanding it's not a viable quill pen to use daily. The nib doesn't hold much ink nor does the pen deliver ink to the paper evenly. I don't fault the vender as their service was prompt and effective but if you are looking for a quill pen to use for writing, look elsewhere. Caveat emptor - you get what you compensate for.
