It seems as if I've applied these very good blue ink pens by Bic for ages; I do not forget writing a lot of a paper for college using pens like these before computers came along. Bic calls these pens "medium point" but the writing is rather clear and easy to read on the page. The blue ink lasts for months--unless you write a lot with these each day in which case they will last a shorter amount of time.

If you want Bic, you have to buy Bic because this company does not make store brands. You won't see any name but Bic on a pen made by Bic.

By Spudman
No, these pens will not satisfy the stationery snob, but for the cash they are a bargain. I'm one who can't hold on to a pen more than a week or two. Either I lose or misplace the pen, or it grows little feet and walks away. The round stick Bic pens do write on the original undertake and last as long as I own it which is not very long (See above.)

These are not clicker pens, so there are no springs or refills to fool with. Attach the lid to the end of the pen to keep from losing it. I have a bad habit of playing with the pocket clip on pens and commonly break off the ones attached to the click pens. On these Bic round pens the pocket clip attached to the cap is hard to break and so far have been Potato Head proof.

These pens are outstanding to buy for a student who goes through numerous pens or for an office where pens routinely disappear. Connoisseurs of fine writing instruments might want to pass on these Bic Bargains.

The Bic round pens are made in Mexico and backed by a performance gratification guarantee from Bic.

Just in case you're confused: The Lamy Al-Star is the same pen as the Safari Vista and Safari- the only divergence amongst the models is the material out of which the body is made- the Al-Star is aluminum, the Vista clear ABS Plastic, and the Safari respective colors of ABS Plastic. The reviews you read for the Safari implement to the Al-Star, if you're looking for a bit more info.

star50 tpng Fountain Pen SilverLamy Safari and Lamy Safari Al Star
By Renee Aubuchon
I have both a Lamy Safari and a Lamy Safarai Al Star. The Al Star is made of aluminum. The Safari is plastic. The gripping division on the Safari is the same color as the pen. On the Al Star it is clear. The fine point nib that came with the Al Star is a smoother writing nib and does not grab the paper and invent resistance as much as the Safari does. The performance of both pens is acceptable. I have read that they have the same nibs, but the nib on the Al Star I just got is silver colored and the nib on the Safari is black. While light weight, it is more comfortable for me to write with this pen with the cap off, therefore reducing the weight even more. The ink flow is even and authenti with both pens. I like the windows in the pen body that show how much remaining ink is left. I also like the angular pen grip that works well with my fingers and gives me good control.

The pen clips are sporty and informal. This is a pen for working, for calligraphy, for drawing. It is not a collector's pen. I love the solid function and form of these pens, their ease of use and reliability is commendable. The Al Star cost me around ten dollars more than the Safari. Since it is a more beautiful pen that glides more with no problems or difficulties (be that because they have dissimilar nibs or because of deviations amidst person fine point nibs that are fundamentally the same), and because I like the clear gripping section better- I prefer the Al Star amongst the two.
