I got it at an antique store so I'm not sure what the name of it is or anything. If you need information about it the nib says 14k and also has a gold clip and gold 1cm band on the cap. Thanks!
You should only use ink specifically recommended for fountain pens, but there are a number of brands that are fine to use. Higgins ink, for example, has a fountain nib symbol on the package of compatible varieties. (Don't use India ink or any pigmented variety, as they may clog your pen.) Before filling an old pen, make sure if it's the sort that uses a bladder, the internal reservoir is not dried out or leaky. If it will accept cartridges, you can just purchase the appropriate refill (Sheaffer uses a proprietary cartridge) or a piston converter, a sort of refillable cartridge that is also good for rinsing out your pen. It may be necessary to have your pen professionally cleaned to remove any old ink residue before it will work properly.
